Mountain Climbing - Living Great Adventure
Every year it seems I'm seeing more and more people on the rocks. I've been climbing for two decades now and when I first began it was rare to run into other climbers on an outing, but lately it's rare not to and that's a good thing.
Not only is climbing physically demanding (so good exercise), but I don't know of much else you can do that is as thrilling and adventurous as scaling a rock wall and discovering places that you know few--if any--others have ever been.
If you've been thinking about taking up climbing, or maybe you're just looking for something new and exciting to try, then I would strongly encourage you to give it a try.
However, every climb should be started with careful planning and preparations, and you should never begin climbing alone. Start off with a friend who is experienced, or find a local group or gym that offers training. There's lots of equipment and details that you will need to master before you should ever take on any hill by yourself.
But once you begin I'm sure you'll enjoy the journey.
